I’ve been quiet on here for far too long, so here’s an update:

1. I have been working at RHI Entertainment the last year, assisting the EVP of Series.  It’s a great job that I’ve been really happy with.

2. My short film WASTED ON THE YOUNG won the Diamond Award at the California Film Festival!

3. I finished the first draft of my 13th screenplay, tentatively titled SIDEWATER AND THE BUDDHA BOARD.  It’s inspired by old films like SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT and EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE.

4. A manager from Aligned Entertainment liked my script UFL, and is taking it out to a few production companies/producers.  Wish me luck!

5. I have started developing my 14th feature script.  Details to come when ready.

I entered Wasted on the Young into a handful of festivals, but did not have any luck.  I have since posted it online (Vimeo, and my site) for viewing.

My screenplay UFL was optioned by Carlotta Pictures for a six-month period.

I receive some incredibly positive feedback on my script In the Devil’s Defense from a producer at Double Nickel Entertainment.

I have finished drafts of my scripts The Middle Man and Crack Baby Blues.

To help my friend Byron Turk, I brought out my old artistic skills and have drawn storyboards to be used in animatics for his feature film Welcome to the Bates Motel.

For the rest of this year, I plan on revising Sayonara Elviko, Crack Baby Blues, and The Middle Man, while making a push to find an agent and/or manager.

For the immediate future, I am going to concentrate on my feature length scripts and eventually getting my short film The Beer Fairy officially finished.

My script Universal Fighting League has gained some traction towards getting made, and has been unofficially optioned for the time being.  I’ve also finished a new draft of my feature-length version of Sayonara Elviko, and am 60 pages into my new script The Middle Man.

The coloring has been completed on Wasted on the Young.  The footage only needs to be reassembled and then DVDs will be made.

Once that’s finished, I will slowly dedicate my time and money to finishing the long incomplete Beer Fairy.

I have finished the first draft of my 10th screenplay - UFL (Universal Fighting League).  I am now focusing on revising my feature length version of Sayonara Elviko, and also continuing development of The Middle Man, and a new short tentatively titled The Wave Box.

No updates on WASTED unfortunately.  The one FX shot should get done this month.

I have recently finished the 1st draft of my 9th feature-length screenplay, IN THE DEVIL’S DEFENSE.  Definitely the hardest script I’ve ever written.  Also waiting to hear back from a producer I know who is reading THE MAN WHO WOULD BE THE END.  Currently starting my preliminary work on my next script, tentatively titled THE MIDDLE MAN.

Many thanks to the actors Cory Elgin, Brian Guy, Ruth Liebman, David Liebman, Dylan, Cameron, and our star David Pomerantz for putting up with the heat and conditions of the shoot!  It will be worth it when the product is finished.

If everything goes well tomorrow, the footage will be turned into the editor Monday night, and ready for the July 31st deadline.

The score for WASTED ON THE YOUNG is complete, and currently being synced up to the film.  Once that is complete, I am going to get the sound mixed within the next month or two.  I am waiting for one shot to have some After Effects added on, following which I will do some minor color correction.

Then…it’s DVD time and I will plan a premiere.

In the meantime, I have signed up for the Writer’s Boot Camp, and intensive writing program which has courses for 2 years, but a lifetime membership.  I will be focusing on finishing three screenplays during my time in that class, including the previously mentioned THE MAN WHO WOULD BE THE END.

DUGIN’S REBELLION is on its 4th draft, and currently being reviewed.  I will return to revising the feature version of SAYONARA ELVIKO once that script is done.

I will be temping at Particpant Media for a week starting next week.  If that goes well, it will hopefully lead to more work there, and maybe a potential permanent position at some point in the future.

1. I have finished the first draft of Dugin’s Rebellion, and will begin rewrites this week.

2. I have begun outlining my next feature script, The Man Who Would Be The End

3. I have met with the editor of Wasted on the Young, and the ADR has been added into the film.

4. I have signed up for a 6-week crash course in acting at the Hollywood Film and Acting Academy.

5. I am currently looking for a new job, having left my position at Automatic Pictures back in December.

Other good news is that Wasted on the Young is also nearly locked.  A few more tweaks, and it will be done.  The film is already in the hands of composer Joshua Buckner, and the actors are preparing to go in for ADR.

It’s possible I may be able to have a double-premiere next year….
